My Dad had a souped up 911. The idle hunted like crazy, just like it was
supposed to. The richer the mixture, the more the idle will fluctuate.
The
Lambda unit is trying to obtain an ideal fuel air ratio, and also keep the
engine running.

When your car seeks at idle, just think of it as a purring kitten. :-)
Some seeking at idle is normal. I think I remember reading something to
this effect in the owner's manual. My opinion is that the more the car
needs a tune-up, the more/longer it seeks until it is fully warmed up.
