RE: [DMCForum] Linear Actuator

Easier yet is to get the Zilla kit when it is ready. Basically once
installed, it is hidden completely and is undetectable to the naked eye.
Basically it is installed inside the door itself and pulls on the handle
cable ( I am sure it is a bit more complicated than that). That way you
have the option to either use the handle or use the keyless remote to
"launch" the door or doors since there is a button for drivers door
only, and another button for both doors at the same time. Assuming your
torsion bar is adjusted correctly, the doors will open. In the event of
a dead battery, the door opens as usual.

On the show cars I have seen with actuators or door launchers they hide
some
posts under the car incase the battery goes dead.

could
not come up with a answer to the question of how to get in or out in the
event of electrical failure or dead battery. Even if you were strong
enough
to lift the door, there is no way to release the linear actuator (as
there
is on the lift in a Bricklin, a pin that you can remove).
