RE: [DMCForum] OFF TOPIC: U.S. Highways

Farrar,

You could possibly go through Pigeon Forge, where the next De Lorean Car
Show will be in 2004, then through Gatlinburg and on to North Carolina
depending on what route you need to take.

As a side note, avoid going through Pigeon Forge on Friday in the late
afternoon, on the weekend, and Mondays. Hell, the best times would
probably
be Tuesday at 10:00 am or 3:00 pm. Also avoid the area if there is any
huge
special event, with the exception of the De Lorean Car Show of course,
unless you don't mind sitting in stop and go traffic and cussing a lot.
But
seriously, it is a very nice drive and lots of stuff to look at and do if
you have the time.

There is also a good Muscle Car Museum there as well. If you would like
to
know more about the museum, please press "1" now.

Hi, gang.

I'm planning a road trip in February and every website I go to has me
taking the quick, boring Interstate route. But once I get out of boring,
flat Louisiana I'd like to do a more scenic tour, like while I'm driving
through the Appalachian mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina, or
the scenic roling hills of north Georgia. Does anybody know of a website
where I can plan my route using US highways instead of Interstates (or
preferably a combination of the two), or do I have to shell out a bunch
of cash for five state maps and plan my route the old-fashioned way?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Farrar in New Orleans
