Re: [DMCForum] Dealer address, engine number, and other info

Dom,

On the DMCNews.com web site there is a VIN chronology.  It
has a summary of all the warranty registrations that were
sent in from new car purchases.  Maybe if your car's
warranty was recorded then it would show where it was
purchased from.

Some states allow you to request a title history on your
car.  Florida does.  For a nominal fee they will give you
copies of all the microfilm records they have on file.  And
Florida keeps a film of just about everything.  If you can
do this in the state your car is titled in, they should be
able to show you a copy of the title that you recorded when
you took ownership.  If it came from another state, you will
find out which state that was.  Then go to that state and
keep pursuing.

When you make your new window sticker, I suggest printing
somewhere on the front or back that it is a recreated
document and not an original.  This would help prevent any
future owner from mistaking it for an original.
