[doc] steering bushing, which method?

hi

i'm just doing my steering bushing and wondered which method is best, 
as i have seen two.

do i remove the bolts in the luggage compartment and slide the lower 
shaft out (according to the instructions i have...can't see how it 
does)

or do i remove the two main bolts holding the whole upper column in 
placed abd the one pinch bolt just below the bushing.
with this method do i need to remove the binnacle or column switch gear
(so far removed knee pad)
