Yes in the UK,
I was told by Deloreans head buyer that when they were road testing them
( out of the Coventry purchasing facility and workshop) they used to buy
unleaded fuel from the Jaguar factory as they used it on there American
"Federal" cars. It was not available any where else.

Yank Tanks have been using it since the 50s... a
friend had a 7.7L V8
Caddy that had "UNLEADED ONLY" stamped on the
dashboard.. and that car
was built in 1959.
