Hi Daniel,
I tried the link to Discovery, but it didnt work. Even so, to
compltely wreck two seemingly perfectly good DeLorean's in my book is
totally wrong.
There is a show on Channel 4 or 5 called Car Wars (or something like
that) where they turn cars into radio controlled fighting machines.
In one show they wrecked a perfectly good 1960's Austin 3 litre 'Land
Crab' once owned by Richard Burton and Liz Taylor - and took great
pleasure in boasting about it. Unfortunately numerous cars with
historical and rarity values meet their deaths on UK banger tracks
every week. The recovery driver who collected me and Flopsy from
Hitchin the other week is a banger racer (I told him if he even
thought about putting a D on the track he'd soon be six feet under
and pushing up daisies), he boasted about smashing up a 2yr old
Bentley this year! Also, I once worked with someone who fully
restored an Austin A60 Cambridge (Farina shaped), then a guy who
worked for our local council spotted it, nicked it, guess where it
ended up.....
I'm just glad we took the plunge and rescued Flopsy from an uncertain
fate......
Just my 2pth,
Claire
#2292 'Flopsy' - built in Ireland, trashed in the USA, resurrected in
England
