Andy and me have recently returned from Drayton Manor Park, ( Charity
Masonic car rally) which raised £13,000 for kids in wheelchairs.
I decided to drive Backy instead of trailering her, she went just fine, the
mileage has nearly doubled from 111 miles to 188! Time to buy another, less
worn one perhaps!
Chris Nicholson will be pleased to hear that all the gear stayed put at 70
+mph.
If any one commented that car rallies are boring, well you only get out what
you put in. Talk to people, explain about the cars, try and make it seem
fresh, that's a challenge...not boring. Just my 2p.
Paul has my gratitude for organising such a successful meeting.
Is some one going to write it up, send one copy with photos to the Classic
car press and one to Andy for the next mag?

Well, That was Shuttleworth over and done with for another year.
We managed a great showing of 14 cars, and the events organiser was really
impressed with he clubs contribution to the end that he has already invited
us back next year, with our own 'private' area ( Loads of space) on the deal
that we "do a Gaydon" and parade with our doors up......
Good time was had by all, I hope. Regrettably I did hear a comment that it
was boring, and not a lot was going on, even the money would have been
better saved as we could have all stood around at someone's house talking.
If that was the case I apologise, however I do feel the general public got
to see a great and unusual sight.
Many thanks to Mike and Mary Hooper for supplying shelter from the
occasional shower, good thinking!
To those who enjoyed themselves thanks for coming, some of you travelled a
long way I.e. Harrogate showing tremendous support
The airshow was another attraction appreciated and enjoyed by those who felt
we had two shows for the price of one.
Going back to next year I would like to gather some views on whether it is
worth my while pursuing and organising or leave it for another event.
Cheers
Paul
