The three things you describe sound like the Flasher-unit (looks like
a relay), Wiper delay/logic (the middle box, with two connectors you
can take out and connect to each other) and the Seatbelt/Key-buzzer
(with the grille).

The two wires going to the nut are probably grounds for something;
with these removed, what doesn't work? My first guess would be the
windshield wipers, but I could be wrong.
