A few K to spend on the car is a good start, but I've found, looking
around, that cheap Deloreans aren't always the best. Though some are
excellent value, the occasional £4,000 car will cost a fortune to
restore - even to bring a fully functional one to scratch cosmetically
can be expensive.
Have you joined the club?
BTW, and I'm not an expert, restoring a Delorean looks like quite a
daunting task - the stainless steel appears to need very specialised
techniques to repair damage.
I can understand you loving the cars so much - I've wanted one
(apparently) since I was 7 - or when they came out. 20 years later, I'm
working towards getting one - but treading very carefully. It's a car
that will last me a lifetime, and I want to get off to a good start.
Richard (has owned over 90 cars since he was 17).
