Errrm, Stian, the manual states that you should start it with 1/4
throttle. I've read on the DML of one owner who could only start the car
reliably with 1/4 throttle. I've found that when starting, the car revs
in a controlled way to about 2000rpm then cops to idle - it lasts maybe
3 seconds. It has done this since I got it and behaves perfectly in
evrey respect so I've assumed this is normal!
Mine starts on the first rotation of the engine usually.

Good you pointed that out!
Since the DeLorean has fuel injection, there is absolutely no need
whatsoever to depress the throttle pedal when starting.
I've tried both - starting with the throttle pressed down 1/3 and to
start with no throttle. I feel that my DeLorean likes best to start
by simply turning the key, and not pressing down the throttle just
like you Martin!
It's quite easy to flood it if you use the throttle - so don't. Let
us all start our DeLoreans "the way it was meant to be".
Oh, and should you experience difficulties in starting with no
throttle at all, then you have problems with your fuel injection.
My DeLorean starts within 3 seconds(!) VRRROOOOM! :-)
Best wishes
Stian
