Hi Dan,
I had a problem with my clutch, I found that the fluid bottle was 
ok,
I could not keep fluid in the system. I found that there is a hose between the
bottle and the master cylinder, this had rotted and the clips at each end had 
disintegrated. I replaced the hose and used jubilee clips.
This fixed the problem.
