With the O2 sensor unplugged, the "computer" that controlls the frequency valve settles on a "slightly rich" mixture. You can
adjust the fuelling down to compensate, or taking it further, lose the frequency valve altogether (not sure how though)
There's a long explanation of this system in the DCO newsletters downloadable off DMCnews.
