Not to have a go at DMC Houston (HONESTLY!), but hasn't anyone worked out if
there's an OEM version still available over here? Only last week Paul
Salsbury walked into Halfords and came out £12 poorer but with a new washer
bottle pump available off-the-shelf. James Grant was telling us at eurofest
that the indicator stalk is almost identical to one found in a Mini, though a
different length.
I'm SURE someone told me some time ago that the window switch is identical to
the ones still in use in the Renault Clio. I completely forgot to look at my
mate's at work but will do on Monday. Whatever I balk at the prospect of
paying that for a switch - Chris Nicholson made his himself from stainless
(painted them though!) and I reckon it'd be not too expensive to get some
machined up from scratch anyway.
I'll probably be eating my words none too soon when my D arrives and I start
going over it!!!
BTW Ian Titley told us at eurofest that the door seals on the D are the same
as the boot seals on a Ford Mondeo hatch... anyone confirm?
