Darren,
At the moment, I daresay most of the time, there are several D's for sale to
choose from. To get one in good working order in the UK, you're looking at
£10-£12K. Less than this (£5-£8K) suggests work to be done, and conversely a
higher price indicates a more pristine example (up to £30K for Dave Howarths
zero-mile minter!)
As for fixing one up, Dan Willis has undertaken just such a task and it is
currently being chronicled in the DOC newsletters. Chris Parnham has also
done a lot of restoration work, as have countless other owners in the DOC
and America. The impression I get is that parts are not hard to source, even
the DeLorean-only bits, as there are a couple of places still supplying
them, but some can be pricey. I haven't owned/worked on any D's ever tho,
I'm sure someone will correct me shortly if needs-be :)
Anyway, welcome to the club
Tris
