James ,
For some one of your age that sounds pretty good!
Did you try Sharmans?

Hi all,
A bit late I know!
I am 21 and paid £223 for fully comp 1500 mile with additional miles
option at a rate of £70 per 1000 miles (me as a named driver and my
dad as the policy holder)
Local brokers are best for insurance quotes as they are much more
enthusiatic for the business and will search throught companies that
most hight street insureres will miss. They have been pretty good so
far, they even forked out £375 for a new custom made windscreen last
year after mine cracked.
Hope this helps
James RG
