Cheers Mike/Martin!

I am fitting the caps for cosmetic reasons as the edge on the drivers side is fraying...i will obviosly have to fit the passenger side to make things even.

I think i will modify the caps rather than cut the existing panel...i hope the caps cut easily as they seem quite ridgid

  take care

The original design of the armrest had it as a seperate piece from the
interior quarter panel. These had a habit of breaking off too easily,
and also wearing down. The caps were a solution to the wearing problem,
but the breaking off was fixed on later cars with replacement interior
quarter panels where the armrest extension was a one-piece molding that
couldn't break off. Being made from the same heat-formed plastic as
opposed to stitched vinyl renders the caps a bit redundant (in theory).
You have a late car that probably has the single piece moldings and
shouldn't need the caps - you can fit them anyway but they will need
trimming as you say

Is it meant to be like this? I could trim the edge off and that should sort it out, just wondering if you guys have any experience of the items!
