As Martin has stated I would suggest that your system needs
recharging.
When I first got 'Boeing' there seemed to be a general overheating
problem. I bought one of John Hervey's fan-fail systems. Since that
add-on was supposed to run the main fans when the air-con is switched
on, I had (wrongly) assumed I could use this as a cunning way to
switch the main cooling fans. However it wasn't until I got the air-
con recharged, and the compressor was engaged that the fans came on.
Lots of previous posts about getting this done and costs. Everyone
has an opinion, for myself I went to a firm near Manchester
called 'Airconco', they can be foud at
www.airconditioningcompany.co.uk
They use a drop-in replacement called RS-24. This requires no
modifications to the DeLorean and is designed to work well at the
lower pressures (2.2lb/~1.25Kg) specified in the service bulletins.
They do a lot of work with classics and commercial vehicles which run
on R12 and were very complementary about the DeLorean layout for
measuring the compressor oil etc.
Complete unload of my original R12 charge (<300g), pressure test and
reload took ~45mins. Cost was £78 inc VAT and a complementary de-
odouriser spray.

I have a problem with the air con. When i switch it on the fans don't
come on, but the blower works. The fans operate fine for the cooling
system.
