Re: [DML] Digest Number 6483

Well, not really. Although the price appeared lower for the product value of the dollar was different. According to inflation calculator it turns out that inflation from 1981 to 2014 equals 162.2%. This means that something costing $20 in 1981 would cost $52.44 today. So, you can say that things today cost about the same as 32 years ago.
The German Stabilus struts that I will soon offer will cost just slightly more. It’s interesting that 32 years later German Mark is gone replaced by Euro, inflation has grown in the US and Europe and we still end up paying about the same for products.

You mean to say that things cost less 32 years ago?  This is the first I've heard of it.

I remember buying a pair of NOS struts from my local DMC Dealer (Gengreus Motorcars a Mercedes dealer) back in 1982..they were well UNDER $40.00 for the PAIR..I never used them and had them until 2005,and as far as I know they were still fine.they sat in my garage stored away for all those years.
