Re: [DML] UNKOWN PART

The mystery is SOLVED! ;)

This is a top piece broken off of the idle air adjustment plugs. They should not be even touched on our engines and we have all heard the comment that they should be LIGHTLY tightened all the way down. It's one of two bank adjustment plugs. There is one more but it is slightly different and it wouldn't have broken off like this.

Mike, there's nothing to worry about. The remaining part is still doing it's job and as I've said this plugs are not used in our engines. The idle speed motor is used instead.
Look at the intake right where the butterfly assembly is and you should now see one similar part, one that is the same diameter all the way down and one hole that is plugged with the remaining part of this plug.

Mike sent me a picture and I was able to identify the part right away.

No threads or terminals, just one solid piece of metal.

Agreed, sounds like the temp gauge sensor. Spade or screw terminal?

Mike,

That sounds like a temperature sensor. Can you give us a link to the
picture? Attachments do not go through. You can upload it to the photos
section of the DML website.
