Re: [DML] Re: Clutch slave.

Put some silicone grease on the threads of the bleeder valve if you are using the vacuum pump. This helps you keep from sucking air in through the loosened threads. Last time I did it, I just put a clear plastic line on the bleeder and used that to twist open and closed the bleeder valve. Remember, open as they step down and close it before they let up!

I didn't get any replies to this so I'll assume there are no real tricks to it and the problem is my our ineptitude.

I think I am at the last hurdle. I got the clutch master and slave installed but for the past two days I have been trying to bleed out the air with no luck. I tried it the standard way using the bleeder on the slave and I tried bleeding the master by loosening the tubing connection and pumping the pedal, but there is no change in pedal pressure. Any ideas in what I am doing wrong. Oh ya, I even tried a one man bleeder pump. You connect it the the slave and push fluid (and air) back to the file reservoir. Still nothing.

One trick that might help.
  • Remove the rear wheels and lower the axle down on wooden blocks to get the rear end as close to the ground as you can.
  • Jack up the front end as high as you feel comfortable.
It does not give you any more room, but it sure makes leaning over the engine a whole lot easier.  You will be able to reach back there a whole lot farther and easier.

Good luck.
