[DML] Re: Delorean fuel system

To put this message in context: I wrote it two or three days ago. Yahoo in its infinite wisdom at the time routed it to Mike's spam box rather than updating it directly. I guess he only just now found it. The thread has progressed in the interim, but sentiments expressed therein remain valid: there is a world of difference between saying "I have a particular Volvo mechanic who is willing to work on a DeLorean" and "any Volvo mechanic anywhere will work on a DeLorean."

Many times over the years I have encountered the community dogma that if K-Jet ever needs maintenance or repair, an owner needs only to take his DeLorean to the friendly neighborhood Volvo dealership and they will do all the work for him. Nothing could be further from the truth. Using Matt's example: there currently are at least 12 Volvo dealerships less than 50 miles from the Capitol -- how many of them are willing to touch a DeLorean? (Somebody with free long distance should call them to find out http://www.edmunds.com/dealerships/Volvo/DistrictofColumbia/DistrictOfColumbia/Washington-1.html).
