Re: [DML] Re: 47 Degrees with the AC knob in the normal position

Bill is a lier. He forgot to mention the $5 r134a adapter that Drew needed.

We also flushed the system with $5 worth of paint thinner.

We were going to drain the oil from the compressor and replace it with ester oil but to my surprise the compressor didn't have any oil in it. The compressor looked original.

We ended up putting about 4 ounces of ester oil I'm the compressor. It was $5 for the 8 ounce bottle.

Drew has cold air but we still need to repair his mode switch since the max setting isn't working. He is going to need max AC when it is 100 degrees outside.

Speaking for myself, I have only replaced two components on my own system: the low pressure switch and the compressor itself. Everything else is original to the car, and everything else works great.

As I told Steve earlier tonight, after this summer's A/C season is over I plan to do it again as a preventative measure. The lower probability I will ever need to mess with my orifice tube, the better. $13 of freon (and a little paint thinner) is cheap insurance.
