I usually sleep on the passenger side.  Maybe next time I sleep in the
car I could try it with the seat removed.  With a proper modification
I might even be able to sleep at an angle by laying my head in the
cargo bay and legs where the seat would have been.

On a serious note, you don't have to pay retail for hotel rooms.  You
would be surprised at the fancy hotels I've managed to get for $50 a
night from www.hotwire.com and www.priceline.com
