Bill is right, the RPM relay itself does not require a heavy ground because it is only a control device. Just a relay coil and a 555 timer based circuit.

I'm interested to know what exactly is grounded to the point on the frame extension. I know the fuel pump isn't, but to the best of my knowledge (which is limited in this regard) the headlights and fans are. Anyone care to enlighten me? I've ready in seperate messages now that just about everything is grounded at the back of the car - so what was the point of all that re-crimping I did on #3352? ;-)

Are you saying that only a fraction of the pump's amps are carried by the RPM relay?  I don't see how this is possible.

Please elaborate on this..
