[DML] Re: Radio Interference



The s/n ratio is pretty low on the older stuff. Especially for AM. If you are not tuned to a strong, local station you can expect noise. Since you say you do not get it on FM we can rule out noise on the electrical system, you are most likely getting it in through the antennae. One thing you should do is get the shielded coil wire. As Bill pointed out you are also supposed to have a cap on the ignition coil. Maybe it's not there, bad or a dirty connection. AM was never very good on the Delorean so don't expect much, especially if the stations are weak. One way to find the source is to take a small AM radio in your hand and move it around the motor to where you find the noise the loudest. That will be close to the source.
