[DML] Re: Mystery capacitor



It depends on the vin I believe where you find this capacitor but it appears to be connected to the power pin for several functions including the vacuum solenoid (Lambda, etc.) and serves primarily to keep a click out of the radio and to keep the tack from jumping when the vacuum solenoid is activated (every time you press the gas pedal) . On early vins that capacitor is mounted near the vacuum solenoid on the harness at the back of the engine compartment.

It is most likely supposed to be there ? and based on the tape color, I would say factory on a later vin number car. The uf of 1 is correct for that application.
