Just throw a Duraspark distributor in there and be done with it:

Duraspark is one of the most reliable and trouble free ignition systems ever developed. Both Ford and AMC installed it on anything that rolled for two decades. eBay has about a gazillion Duraspark distributors at any given time (remember to search by vehicle, such as "F150", as well as "Duraspark"). Cost will be anywhere from $5 to $50.

I'm running a Duraspark module on my DeLorean BTW (Bosch distributor for now):
I made an adapter from a Bosch ECU edge connector so the Duraspark module can plug into the stock harness without any modification whatsoever:
