Usually the LED will be fine but they're connected in an array with an inline resistor so it isn't as simple as a bulb and more to go wring even if the light emitting bit doesn't

LEDs do have a long life span, but I don't recall ever being told that they never burn out. Who was your salesman, Bill? And is it possible that s/he was simply "mistaken" or "wrong," instead of "full of shit"? Or is there no difference in your world? I have been wrong before. Does that mean I am full of shit?
