Actually I was banned because I told Sean to fuck himself. Let you in on a little secret: I owned #5939 long before DMCTalk ever existed. I will own it long after DMCTalk disappears into the ether. My ownership experience does not depend upon Sean Mullins.

As far as steering columns are concerned: I have been messing with cars for the better part of three decades. In my part of the world, the part under the hood has always been called the "steering column" (sometimes people call it the "lower column"). 

I have never removed the lower column without pulling the upper column out first (body bushing replacement), but I am about to see if I can't get #2508's out with the inner column in place -- lazy I guess. If I can, I will order my own super column this afternoon. Stainless components cost about 20% more than carbon, but I think I will treat myself.
