I know the Renault alternators I get are made in Poland ;-)

The reference for the starter motor is any 25 turbo or D500/501 alpine GTA.

You shouldn't need to buy any engine or transmission part stateside, unless it's simply cheaper than either Volvo or Renault

Can you share some more detailed info on this newer starter?
For those who will say to support my favourite DMC supplier let me say that
I would rather get the starter locally from Renault than pay for shipping
it to Poland - read: expensive.
