Re: [DML] Trouble shifting in 1st and 2nd gear

Everyone gave Steve wrong ideas, wrong things to look for, wrong things to check. Not only would Steve have wasted time chasing these false leads, but as Gary correctly pointed out, had Farrar not pointed him in the right direction (Farrar was the only person who did in fact give Steve the correct diagnosis and solution), continued driving with the original problem still in effect, even if Steve had performed all the other wrong checks everyone else was giving him, could have eventually caused even bigger problems.

Why do you have to be such an ASS?

Steve very clearly stated that the *ONLY* problem was shifting into 1st & 2nd. All other gears were fine. He even posted a YouTube video of the problem. That does not indicate a clutch hydraulics problem (otherwise he'd have problems with all gears). That does not indicate a gear oil problem (likewise otherwise he'd have problems with all gears). Etc.

Ostensibly this forum is supposed to be a repository of useful information. Sending owners down rabbit trails is not useful. Pointing them to the most likely diagnosis and repair is useful.

With the right information, Steve's problem was likely fixed in minutes rather than spending hours of chasing false leads.
