Re: [DML] Fuel hoses

At least since 1999, DMCH has never sold any orange fuel hoses, but I think Grady did.

Subject: [DML] Fuel hoses

Hey all,

Great day in North Dakota so I started up my D for a post winter-storage
shake down. It was cut short by a fuel leak where the feed hose connects to
the metal lines under the body. I found the hose was loose on the barb.
While deciding how to go about fixing it, I found another loose barb.
Closer inspection found the inner hose to be dry and cracked. I ended up
pulling both hoses off, cutting an inch off both sides, and push the barbs
back in by putting the fitting in my bench vise and working the hose on
(didn't use heat).

These hoses are the orange ones from DMCH. Probably 11 years old. Back then
they said you don't need hose clamps on them. They are fairly tight without
clamps. Should I put clamps on to be extra safe? And is a decade the life
span of these hoses?
