Re: [DML] Front body bolts not lining back up

Thanks Tom.

My problem is that loosening the seatbelt bolts until there is space between the bolt head and the body does nothing. The seatbelt bolts are installed into a large steel (removable) spacer which takes up 90% of the size of the hole in the fiberglass, and restricts the movement of the body at that point. Therefore, unless that spacer is completely removed, the effect is the same as if the bolt was fully tightened.

If I install, even loosely, the front bolts first, I cannot get the seatbelt bolts with the spacer even started to thread.

The two immovable attachment areas of the body are fighting one another, if that makes more sense. I had a lot of trouble with this the first time I attempted to tighten the body bolts. In that case, I got the front bolts installed loosely, and then pulled as much as I could to get the seatbelt bolts aligned. After all of my pushing and pulling, eventually the front bolts popped out, with both holes in the frame stripped. I helicoiled them, tightened them back down, and decided I would figure out how to address the seatbelt bolts later. Well, here we are...
