[DML] Re: *NEW* Automatic Transmission Question

The quadrant lever adjusts the amount of voltage the internal alternator makes and from that the shift computer varies the shift points. If he really has to drive on a bum shift computer or bad cable the best advice would be to pull fuse #13 10A. That would disable the shift computer and the transmission will default into "Limp Home" mode and stay in 3rd gear. He would be able to drive it slowly and gently at low speeds and still be able to go highway speeds if necessary. I am guessing here but I bet if Bill had a Delorean with an automatic he would make up something MUCH simpler and easier to maintain then the shift computer we currently have.
