[DML] Re: Automatic Transmission Question

Plan is to replace the cable with a bicycle brake cable (on his own recognizance). I have a sneaking suspicion that will happen *AFTER* the maiden voyage. I will communicate to him what kind of RPM's to expect, if the solenoids receive any sort of signal at all.

Does make one nostalgic for simple manual transmissions.

This is essentially a throttle position sensor and sets the shift poing appropriate to where the throttle is at the time. Later shifts under acceleration, but holds the high gear longer on deceleration.
