[DML] Re: Bob's BTTF car and more

Bill,

I did not know that Spirits came with an iron duke engine. I certainly am no AMC expert.
What kind of mpg are you able to get with this SR4 set up.

I have a friend who wants to put a 4 banger in a 69 Camaro because a few of the 1969 Camaros that were made in the Philippines where 4 cyl. Talk are rare!!

I like all the chrome you have added to your car. It is one of the things that give old cars both class and styling. As opposed to the mono color (aka the movie Labyrinth) of most of todays cars.
(black, white, or silver. with almost no chrome trim.)

Dog dish - fly saucer- hub caps are back in. Probably because they are so rare or unusual.

I just saw the article in the last issue of DCS about the A arm reinforcements.
The pictures added so much to understanding of the discussion.

I similar thing was done with A arms on mgs (late 50s to 60s?). These are the same lower A arms that fit the Nash Metropolitans. The mgs had a sway bar, the Mets did not. The mg A arms were reinforced -similar to the D upgrade- to support the sway bar connection.

Thickness of the metal was similar to that of the Ds.

If I remember correctly, Marty has raced his D in slaloms courses. He also made some changes to the front suspension.

In LV, they rent out the race track for slalom racing twice a year. $30 all day entry fees. I have some AMC friends who do this with their AMXs. It is great fun. I hope to do this with the V8 time machine some time in the future. What great photo opts.

Come to think of it, if I have my friend with the V8 bus do the same course, and we blend the video, with a slight time delay, that could be really a fun thing to watch. (fireworks coming out of the rocket lancher?) Got to save this idea!

Bob
