Hi Bill,

As Steve has said, a rear ARB will increase propensity to oversteer because it transfers load to the outside wheel, by definition the one with less grip. 

I was going to argue the front suspension upgrade however Lotus themselves took the Esprit to a lower wishbone later in production. I am still cautious, especially with the castor setting which "expects" the arc generated by the ARB which the reinforcement bars strive to eliminate. Frankly the whole lot could use a redesign!

Bottom line: vehicle dynamics is a VERY complex subject which extends far beyond my ability, and I suspect yours as well. Bringing the car to a point where the owner is happy is as good as anyone can hope for but to really sort things out would require a lot more expertise than I believe any of us have

FYI the Alpines all have a rear ARB and it goes exactly where the DeLorean chassis has that handy "tunnel". I have implemented a rear ARB and I really liked the result!

I tried to respond earlier, but that message appears to have disappeared into the ether. Apologies if it reappears later as a duplication.

The problem isn't in the front end, other than exacerbation of the real problem -- inertia throwing all that rear weight around. Without a rear sway bar, the rear end plows into a corner, and the other side of the car rises up and tries to throw itself off the road. Jeff Dickey has a picture of his Delorean autocrossing in which air is actually visible under one wheel. Now that my sway bar serves no thrust arm function, which detracts from its real purpose by pulling the bar backwards, my front end sticks to the road like glue. It's all that weight wallowing from side to side in the back that causes mischief. The front end of the car will obediently follow even the harshest of curves while the back end tries to throw itself into the bushes.
