[DML] Re: JZD and the Cocaine Sting



The informant the FBI handler was using was not bound by the ethics of the FBI. In fact, he had a lot to lose if the deal fell through so it is not hard to imagine him pressuring JZD to go through with the deal. The handler himself had a lot riding on making this case. This is exactly how they moved up in the chain, successful high profile prosecutions. The jury saw this and is probably one of the main reasons they threw the case out. You can say JZD's greed, arrogance, and pride did him in. He probably knew what he was getting into but saw no other choice. In the back of his mind he must have thought he could manipulate the situation to his advantage.
