Re: RE: [DML] DOA will remain D-O-A

Doing a new Service manual is a GREAT idea. In fact, it is such a good idea others have come up with it. I am currently helping an individual with this monumental project. At this point in time I will not contribute my time and effort to promoting the DOA. Even if they don't charge for it, they will use it to promote the DOA. I would much rather see it used by the local club that I actively participate in, the DMA. I once did an article for Delorean World. They forgot what I was promised in return and it took repeated requests to get the couple of magazines I was supposed to get. I was even "cheated" out of some, it was just at the time the DOA decided to cut back the # published a year. BTW, I didn't check but I doubt if they reduced the dues while cutting back on the one thing most members joined in the first place for! Being so far away from California the DOA has very little to offer to someone in New Jersey. The DOA holds no local events and it does not run the "national" event. About the only thing it can offer to someone like me is the magazine which has lost much of it's relevance. With the limited amount of time I can devote to things Delorean it is much more worthwhile to me to contribute to the local club. IMHO the DOA should concentrate it's efforts to satisfying it's local members and quit trying to act like a national club.
