You probably do have to bleed air out of the cooling system. If that "fixes" the problem you have leaks that allowed the coolant to escape and the system pulled air in. This will happen again unless you fix the leaks. As for the belts squealing, that is most commonly the idler pulleys but can also be the water pump or just loose belts.
