RE: [DML] How is Rear View Mirror Replaced?

If you purchased flat side view mirrors, then that 3M product looks
fine all around. Houston sells the official pad as part # 111976 if you
prefer to get that.

Note that the tape you indicate is very thin, and therefore the surfaces
must mate perfectly. If you purchased the Multivex mirrors (very very
highly recommended over flat) this product will not work because the
mirror is convex. The tape I used for both my aftermarket rear view
mirror and the Multivex side view mirrors is a 3M VHB with a layer of
foam in it. They sell it at Pep Boys. The tape is visible from the
outside of the windshield however, and what you selected is clear...
Hmmmm....

I bought side-view mirrors and a rear-view mirror from one of the
vendors. The side-view mirrors description said they came with the
necessary tape. It turns out they didn't and I was later advised by the
vendor to "go to a local hardware store and buy some". Result: I'm
sitting on brand new side-view mirrors and a rear-view mirror - none of
which is installed.

I checked a couple of the vendors for "3M VHB mounting tape". No hits.

Is this it? http://www.shop3m.com/70006429206.html

Many thanks!
