[DML] Re: VIN, FRAME, and ENGINE Numbers

That's me. I added your information to the database. I started collecting engine and frame number to help research on the origins of the 12XXX VIN cars. These are the cars that were converted to RHD. There has been questions whether these cars were early VIN cars that were pulled out of production and given new VIN numbers or whether these were car that had never been VINned before being given the 12XXX series VIN. The only way I could see find out (outside of factory documentation) was to compare the engine and frame numbers with other cars. So I started collecting that information. If anyone is willing to look up the frame and engine numbers on their cars, then send them to me along with the VIN number so I can add it to the database. Information on the VINs can be found at www.txdmc.org under the "VIN Registry" tab.
