[DML] DCS West 09 - Getting down to the wire..

   Hi gang, Ken *M* here.

We are down to the wire here in our preparations for DCS West. I see there's still a bunch of people registered for hotel rooms but have not actually registered for the show! PLEASE. Get your registrations in.

The cutoff for on-line registration is THIS WEEKEND.

After that, you'll just have to bribe me at the show to let you in (Yes, we're taking day-of registrations). But for so many folk to wait this long really puts pressure on us to get dinner dealings set with the hotel, registration packets made, and all the other things involved in the show.

Still not sure about coming? Here's some of the things you will miss:

Some of our Guests:

Katherine DeLorean - http://www.time-traveler.org/delorean/Chicago06/IMG_5846.JPG - Daughter of John DeLorean.

Bob Gale - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0301826/ - producer of the Back to the Future movies and more.

Andrew Probert - http://www.probertdesigns.com - Designer of the BTTF car and responsible for all the storyboarding. He will be doing a presentation of the alternate ending for BTTF1 that will truly amaze you!

Kevin Pike - http://www.filmtrix.com/ - Maker of the BTTF cars and instrumental in the production of props for shows such as Star Trek and many other movies. Kevin and Andrew will be doing a joint session on their involvement with the Star Trek franchise on Thursday night! This is information no one has ever seen before.

Claudia Wells - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920148/ - Jennifer from BTTF1, and a long time supporter and guest of the DCS events.

Phil Nigh and his ultra collection of all things BTTF.

Dixon Hollenshead - with tales from his time at the DeLorean Motor Company in Ireland.

Tom Tait - Tom works for Universal and was involved with the BTTF ride. Tom tells us he has something special for everyone who attends his presentation!

Did you see the episode of 'American Dad' about the DeLorean? The FOX network has given special permission to air the episode at our show, and Shawn Kerkoff - Sound person for the show and a DeLorean owner - will present the episode.

The Driving tours:

After much hard work from several people, the Driving Tours have two options for getting you out to see some of the important landmarks in and around the Las Vegas region.

Tech Talks:

Don Steger, Jeff Angwin, Toby Peterson, John Hervey, and Rob Grady have information every owner should know about their cars. These sessions could save you big $$ on future repairs!

Vendors:

The DeLorean Motor Company - This will be the first time owners from the Western states will get a chance to see and directly talk to the people who make it possible for us to maintain and improve our cars. We'll also have Rob Grady, John Hervey, and others who have been advancing the marquee for many years.

Clubs:

The DeLorean community has made many clubs that provide support and fun outings for the owners in their areas. Two of the principle groups involved in putting on DCS West are the Northern California DeLorean Motor Club and the Arizona DeLorean club: AZ-D. We have also had help from members of the DeLorean Owners Association. Make sure to stop by their tables and say thank you!

And last but not least this is a great chance to see other owners and their cars: Don't underestimate the social aspects of these events. Learning what others have done to solve issues and to see some of the additions and advancements made by the owners themselves can be really amazing!

So it's not too late! And see you at DCS West!
