RE: [DML] Contact Cleaner vs. WD-40

Rich,
WD 40 will clean contacts, start engines and in most cases won't harm
plastics. If you look at the material safety data sheets it contains 67%
Naphtha and 21 % mineral oil. Naphtha is where you get the cleaning from and
flammability from. Problem is it leaves the coating of mineral on what ever
you clean where as a straight contact cleaner normally doesn't.

Subject: [DML] Contact Cleaner vs. WD-40

Some time ago, I saw a DeLorean owner clean some of his contacts with WD-40.
I was kinda surprised by that, but the guy insisted that WD-40 was just as
good as contact cleaner.

Has anyone else seen this? Has anyone else tried this with any success?

Thanks!

Rich, 2088
