[DML] Home made exhaust adaptation

I was wondering if anyone has created their own exhaust system by modifying what's behind the stock manifolds?

I had a thought that by sawing off the left header pipe right in front of the crossover "Y" and the crossover pipe, just after it's exit from the header, you could add flexible exhaust tubing with clamps and your choice of mufflers, hangers and tips and have a much better performing exhaust system for a couple hundred bucks.

Has anyone tried this? If so, can you send some pics of what you did?
