[DML] Re: Can you get more A/C velocity?

There are several things to check to make sure everything is working correctly.

Verify that the motor rotation is correct. Some after-market fan motors run opposite to the corect rotation for the fan. If it's wrong either reverse the polarity to the motor or replace the motor with a correct one.

Check that the rubber adapter boot that hooks the center vents to the A/C is properly installed. It is difficult (but NOT impossible) to install properly but if it is not then most of the air will leak into the console and not out the vents.

Check the ducts inside the doors. If they are not assembled correctly you will get a lot of leakage into the doors and not much air out the vents.

If the mode switch is hissing you will not get proper movement of the actuators and the doors they control will not direct the air where you want. Rebuild the switch.

Close up any holes under the dash in the front firewall. The foam that was origonally there deteriorates and you get a lot of hot air entering that the A/C has to cool.

I capped off the side vents in the doors which helped a bit, but the velocity coming out of my center vents really isn't that great. Not compared to my '08 Dodge Charger anyway. My A/C unit is only 6 months old. When I take off the plastic vent cover I get blow away so I guess I could just keep it removed but then you can point the air flow.
