[DML] Re: Chassis

Although it is a Lotus design it is nowhere like a Lotus frame in that no Lotus ever used this frame, it is a Delorean frame. The "best" source of measurements and dimensions, and good pictures is in the Workshop Manual R:02:02 and :03. As for handling IMHO the Delorean is close to equal of a Lotus of the same period except that it is heavier with most of the additional weight in the rear. Lotus never built a rear-engined car, the motor was always ahead of the rear wheels. As for performance, it is nowhere near Lotus, the Delorean is underpowered as compared to the Lotus. In the United States (which was the Delorean's targeted market) there are a lot of us that are interested in the car. For a small measure of that interest look at deloreancarshow.com. It will give you some idea of the following that the car has in the US. In fact at the last show we had some people from other countries join us. There is a Delorean dealer in the UK too.
