Subject: [DML] Dash, Binnacle & more - UPDATE

Here's the latest on these parts:

Dash - Fit and texture for molding approved! We had an untextured part
in a
car here for the latter part of the summer, sitting in the parking lot
all
day, with no adverse results. There are some stress marks in the molding
process that the supplier is working to improve, but I should see a
complete, textured, final sample within 30-45 days. Unlike originals,
the
texture will be molded into the dash, and NOT vacuum formed piece.

Binnacle - Fit and texture approved. The binnacle is two parts: one
molded
plastic housing, with a vacuum formed, textured wrapping and a molded
plastic insert which makes the black "trim" along the inner edge of the
housing. Like the dash, I expect to see a complete, vacuum formed
assembly
within 30-45 days.

Center console armrest cover - This part will be molded plastic, and
then
vacuum formed in a material with the same texture to match the dash (as
per
the originals), but will have a bit of "cushion" underneath to give it
some
softness. There is one minor modification that remains to be done with
the
tool for this part, but otherwise it's good to go. Final samples within
30-45 days.

LH escutcheon - Approved fit, texture (or lack thereof) and color. We
are
seeing about getting these produced in advance of the other parts.

Retail pricing has not yet been set, but by the time we receive (and
hopefully, approve) this final set of samples, we hope to be able to pin
it
down.
