Did you try unlocking the door and opening it from both the inside and outside of the car?  My DeLorean had a similar problem of the front door latch jamming.  As it turned out the latches did not unlatch in sync and my front lock rod needed shortening .when unlocking your car you may want ot try pressing on the rocker switch inside the car or turning the key fully and holding it when pulling the handle

Probably the guide of the front lock rod that came off of the door's 
inner side. Happens often. Take of the upper door panel and look for a 
plastic clip (guide) about at the grab handle's position. You may also 
have to take the lower door panel off to have a clear view.
